Any advice on minor movements using indentations on clear retainers?

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Any advice on minor movements using indentations on clear retainers?

#1 Post by nord »

I read a while back about using small dimples in retainers for minor tooth movements.

Well, after my ortho made 3 faulty retainers in a row, leaving me without a retainer for several weeks, my teeth are now not-straight again.

I went ahead and made some dimples, one facing in toward the tooth that needs moving and the other facing out. What's the practicality of this? I can see my tooth has already moved thanks to the dimples, but will it stay in this position? Any advice is appreciated. I'm stressed out.
