back top molars shifting.

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

back top molars shifting.

What would be the best retainer for shifting teeth? My back top molars are not aligned with my other teeth. I omly suggest a upper hawley would work. Any suggestions

I sorry I cannot help answer your question. But just wanted to ask if you had been wearing a clear retainer and your molars shifted? I am meant to be getting a clear retainer and need my molars to stay put, my bite is now as good as we're going to get and that was by moving molars slightly with elastics so do not want them moving.

Yes i have worn a clear retainer only at night. Problem is though its very uncomfortable compared to a hawley retainer. I wear a hawley on my bottom teeth which is very comfortable. I have had my retainers for over 2 years, but rarely wore my clear one because of discomfort. Had my wisdom teeth removed in my early 30's which resulted in major shifting on my bottom teeth. Now im just concerned that i should just replace my clear retainer for an upper hawley. Ive been wearing my lower hawley practically every night for over 2 years and had no issues.
