Uh oh!

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Uh oh!

#1 Post by Jewles »

I can't believe it has happened but my dog ate my retainer. I caught him chewing something and had to drag it out of his mouth!

He jumped on my bed then onto my bedside table and stole it.

When I called my ortho and told her she laughed and asked if I had lost it, she laughed even harder when I told her my dog actually did eat it.

I have to go back in next monday and have it replaced.

Evil evil dog!

Bummer! Even though I don't have a dog, my ortho warned me several times not to EVER put my retainer in reach of a dog. They say, aside from losing them, that's the most common reason for early retainer death. RIP.
