Lisp with top permanent retainer

Just recently finished Invisalign, and wanted permanent retainers top and bottom. However, it's created a lisp, and have had it since Tuesday. It's sad and funny at the same time....a grown woman with a lisp. It feels like air is shooting through the tiniest space between my top perm retainer and my front teeth.
Anyone experienced the same problem? If so, did it go away?

I've had permanent retainers top & bottom since 8 July. I still find I lisp a little, mostly when I'm at work talking on the phone - which is really annoying!!
I try to keep some water near me which helps.
