Newly debraced and fully retained

Hey all,
I didn't realize this part of the forum existed until about a month ago. I was just debraced this morning after nearly 1 year and 5 months of treatment. I was fortunate in that I never had elastics and my teeth moved very fast. I was being treated for an overbite and to help me to stop grinding my teeth at night.
I received a fixed retainer that fits behind my 6 front-bottom teeth. I just left the orthodontist with clear retainers. I have to wear both sets for 3 days nonstop, then I will alternate between them for 12 hours at a time for the first 9 months or so. I have an appt. in July, so I guess they'll make note of any changes.
How long does it take for the retainers to settle? I sound like a cartoon character right about now!
Glad to be able to continue using the site, post-braces. I kinda feel like I've lost a good friend now, but I can't wait for some popcorn tonight!
