Just finished my second go with braces to correct a minor open bite that happened after several growth spurts throughout puberty. Feels good at 21 to have a perfect smile again. Relatively painless procedure to get them off, but having ceramics, a few of them hurt because they had to be broken off. My ortho had planned on an upper bonded retainer, but then decided against it, and we're going to keep an eye on my teeth, and the first sign of upward movement, the bonded retainer goes on. But so far so good with my essix retainers, nice and tight. I was told to only wear them at night, but since I only work part time, I'll be wearing them throughout the day too. Good luck to everyone who is in treatment or considering, and trust me, you will not regret your decision.
