Tight Retainter

#1 Post by Zoom »

I am only wearing my retainer at night.

Is it normal to feel a little tight for the first couple minutes? Or should I start wearing it 24/7 again.

Thanks

That's probably not a bad idea. When I got my retainers, I was told that once I start wearing them only at night, if they feel tight, I would have to wear them longer. But you should ask your ortho to be absolutely sure.

Yeah, I didn't let myself go to night-only until I didn't feel any tightness anymore when I put them in. Maybe try wearing them just a little longer in the evening before bed instead of just while sleeping?

I went to my ortho and he said it was probably just a freak thing and asked me not wear my retainer that night and come to him in the morning. He said it was a little tight, but that I could start doing the night thing again.
