Crest Daily Multicare Strips to maintain whitening

#1 Post by smile2006 »

I had my teeth whitened after getting my braces off....whoppee love it. I was looking at the Crest Daily Multicare Strips which says they can be used to maintain a just whitened state with 5 minutes a day. Has anyone tried these to maintain a whitening job?????

I have a box of crest premium plus whitening strips, the whitening is meant to last for 18 months.

I haven't used them yet becuase I'm waiting for the enamel to remineralise as I jsut got my braces off.

To be fair, I'm happy with my teeth slightly beigy apperance, but if only it were all that colour, I have fluorosis on my front four, which have dazzling white tips. So I need to whiten it to match it up.

Threse crest premium strips sound interesting, would like to hear more info on it.

Not sure if I'll be able to maintain this messy daily chore.

I've heard of the daily strips and considered them. My ortho gives out tubes of bleach, but I don't care for the stuff (it makes my teeth SUPER sensitive). I tried the regular Crest Whitestrips once, but they didn't seem to whiten uniformly; but maybe that's just my teeth!

Let us know how it works out if you give it a try!

I was thinking of having the Zoom Whitening done through my dentists office but after doing alot of reading tonight it sounds like it was very painful for many people and even burned some peoples gums! I'm kinda rethinking it now!

The remains of the clarity brackets attached to my tooth were sanded off (if that's the right word). When the braces came off the surface where the brackets used to be had a matt appearance, where as the surrounding area was shiny. I just assumed that it's a bit soon to apply harsh peroxide onto it immediately coming after braces.

I've started the whitening now with crest whitestrips, the first 3 days were really good, I could notice the differerence almost immediately, but now progress seemed to have stalled. The deeper stains are a bit stubborn.

I took tetracycline when I was 17, obviously after all my adult tooth have grown. Could it be possible that the slight greyish appearance of my tooth are tetracycline staining?

btw the crest whitestrips sting very bad on my gums at first I couldn't notice it much. But now after 5 days of constant whitetning and the gums are starting to get sensative. It isn't too bad and I can cope with it.

The gums even turn white, I was worried at first- but the gums return back to normal after a few mins.
