See morphed animations of my braces journey

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

See morphed animations of my braces journey

#1 Post by butterfly »

Hi

I created some morphs of my 14 months of braces.

You need a flash player to view the animations! Keep in mind that the files are rather big.

Front view:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/ ... /mouth.swf (850 KB)

The expansion of the lower arch is visible (right before lowers went on).

Top arch view:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/ ... an2007.swf (1.3 MB)

Pretty amazing what happens in our mouths!

I will edit the morph later when the chipped teeth will be filled ;)

Wow butterfly

That's some great footage. Your story has been inspirational. Great to see the transformation happen in minutes, wish that were the case in reality!

That's pretty neat. Did you take those pictures yourself, or were they done at your ortho's office?

About that once-wayward tooth on your upper right...about how long did that take to move into the proper position? I'm curious because I have two bottom canines that need to be moved some distance like that.

Thanks again for the vid.

I took all the pictures myself. :)

The wayward tooth took about 7 months to move enough to look normal. At the one year mark it had reached its final position. It is still not perfect. This is why I wear a positioner now.

BTW Don't look for a midline. I don't have one because I miss a lower lateral.

Hey I wouldn't have even noticed the midline if you hadn't pointed it out!

Fantastic progress in a really short period of time... I'm taking inspiration from yours and trying to nudge mine along!!

I use Sqirlz Morph, it's freeware:

Before morphing you should prepare the photos by stacking them one on top of the other (by the layers feature in photoshop) so the back teeth will fit.
