Metal Mouth Message Board

I just got my 4 molar bands off friday and my ortho shaved between my front teeth and now there is a huge gap. I have a power chain but I am wondering why they did this at the last minute bc my teeth already have changed since friday and I am getting my braces off in 2 weeks. Won't my retainers not fit right? And won't the gap come right back if its only fixed for 2 weeks with my braces? And also, will this gap even go away with no molar bands in the back? Bc usually the gaps close faster and this one isn't closing at all. Are they supposed to do this 2 weeks before getting your braces off? Your teeth don't really even have time to set.

please help if anything similar happened to you or you know anything about why they did this and if it will effect my smile in the longrun. Thanks.
