i had my braces removed for a long time now which is around the early 90's (i think) and i dont recall much back then but i still have a bar behind the lower part behind my teeth...

due to insurance and such i havent been back to the dentist in 4 yrs but i take care of my teeth real well and i get complimented alot about them...anyway i still have a bar on the lower part behind the teeth (if someone can chime in and tell me whats it called it would be appreciated) and i want to know if its permanent or not because the last time i went to the dentist i asked if i can have that bar removed and he said that it was something permanent.....again i dont remember the time i went to my ortho so i dont remember if he told me anything when i had all my braces removed..the last thing i remember from that place was getting my picture taken without my braces...

my fear is that this is something that was supposed to be removed many years ago and i just assumed that it was part of the whole...i dunno...it really doesnt bother me much though i would like to floss down there...

thank you very much! i always thought it was just something the ortho or something that i failed to hear when my braces came off...thank you! its a load off my mind :)

yes i need the hardened type of floss...but i remember they gave out a special floss with a loop at the end where i can put the floss in...but i will look up the floss that you mentioned
