Yeppeee Braces Are OFF !!

Finally got my braces off last Wednesday !!!

Everything went alot easier than I thought. The doc popped the brackets off very easily. Just a few had a little discomfort, but no big deal. Then he "sanded" the cement off of each tooth and then shaped up a few front teeth.
Then the assistant made the molds for my essix retainers that they make there in their office. The molds were sent to another place to make the hawley retainers and I should get those the end of this week.

I'm very happy with the results - knowing that they were NOT going to be perfect, but a heck of a lot better than they were.
Next I am getting my bridges done - one on both sides of my bottom arch in the back.

I will try and post pictures soon - I am bleaching them now (using my essix retainers) with bleaching gel I purchased at the dentist. I can tell a difference with just 3 days of bleaching.

I can't believe it's finally over !!! It feels so good !!!

Congratulations texasangel!!! I am looking forward to joining the naked tooth club next week. I want to have some of my teeth shaved down/reshaped too. How much did they have to shave off your teeth to make them even? Some of my bottom teeth have pretty rough edges because of the way my bite was before the braces corrected it.

He used the high speed file drill(?) horizontally to even out the 2 top front teeth and the 4 bottom front teeth and one of my bottom canines were a little taller than the other and he barely shortened it.
He had already done some of the vertical slenderizing in my earlier stages so he could bring them together.
It's amazing how just a 'little' bit filed down makes a difference.
