I probably should be getting my wisdom teeth out, and that is why my teeth are shifting so quickly and for no reason, but I wear my upper and lower retainers 24/7 and I still have noticed movement (especially in my lower teeth). I was thinking about possibly getting a lower bonded retainer BUT one that covers ALL bottom teeth, not just the front 6. I thought it may be a good idea at least for the first year, since I'm wearing my bottom retainer so much anyway. Do you think I would obtain more benefits from switching to this?
As for upper retainer, for a person like me who is 20 and still going clubbing with my retainers (haha) should I switch to the invisalign type, or do those ones not hold up as well? I figured I would never not go a day without my retainer so as far as adjusting them, that would probably never have to happen. I do however, notice that even after wearing my upper retainer for almost 12 months now, even just not wearing it all day and putting it back in at night, its super super tight. What's going on here? Why do my teeth move so fast?!?!
So, to stay with traditional metal retainers, or advance to invisable ones? My braces have been off almost a year now, but I am scared to only wear retainers at night!
Teeth keep moving even with 24/7 retainer wear?
