Did payments stop when braces came off

I'm due to get my braces off in July. To my suprise I was told at my last appointment that my payments would end with my June payment. This is wonderful and unexpected news. Has anyone had this? Basically I will not pay the full amount that was on the contract because the contract was for 24 months and mine will be off in 17-18 months. I do have an additional retainer and retainer check fee that I was aware of. Just wondering what the experiences of others have been.

Wow I wish this happened to everyone!

I was told that if I finish my treatment before I've paid in full (I have monthly payments spread out over 18 months) that on my last appointment where I get my retainers, I would need to pay off the rest of what I owed. So basically I'm hoping in a way that I don't finish early because I don't exactly have a grand sitting around here somewhere!

My payments were structured so that my account was paid in full 3 months before my expected completion date. But, since tx went 6 months past, I enjoyed 9 months of no payments. Didn't have to pay any extra for the additional 6 months' tx.
