I got my braces off several days ago. I wondered if it would hurt and it didnt'. Just felt like presure and popping as the brackets came off. I was amazed at how white my teeth looked. I'd been affraid of my teeth being discolored due to the brackets covering part of them.
My teeth look better than I thought they would and it's a good feeling to have them off. The assistant steralized my old braces and gave them to me--lol, my little boys got a kick out of it. It still had the brackets banded to the archwire.
I have the essix retainers. My upper is a bit thicker with palate support on it. I'm a bit disapointed at how pricy replacements are ($150 per upper or lower/$300 set) after reading about others getting cheaper replacements.
