Hey all, i know that i haven't been here in a while, but i thought that i would let you all know...

I got my braces off today!!! I wore them for 14 months

I get my retainers on thursday, i picked hawley retainers instead of ivisaline ones. I just didn't think that i would like the invisaline ones, they get too spitty lol.

I'm am SOOO glad that they are finally off!!!!

I had to get a permanent retainer behind my top two teeth though to keep them together...that kinda stinks but oh well lol, at least that's all that's in my mouth.

Thanks for helping me so much through those first months of having braces!!

14 months is amazing. I am curious, was this time estimated or shorter than you expected?

Actually, this was a month over my estimated braces time.

I am definetely enjoying it already! I have gotten so many compliments, it's crazy ^.^

I just hate this little bonded retainer that i now have to wear for a long time. It's on my top two teeth, to keep my gap from opening back up >.< It's really noticable, i might have to have them grind it down a little bit, cuz it feels huge.

My retainers are gonna be cool though. My top one is purple,black,purple. My lower ones are pink,black,pink.

I can't wait ^.^

I got my hawleys today, and i can barely talk at all. My retainers are so thick, they are near impossible to talk in. I have a REALLY bad lisp...My name just happens to start with an S (which are the hardest to say), but thank god it's the Shhhh.... sound and not the ESss sound lol.

I hope that it gets better. Even the sound of my voice is different because the retainer gets in the way of my saying some stuff >.<.

Oh and that little permanent retainer that i was so worried about, ha yeah right i don't even know that it's there anymore lol

I have an upper essix and lower bonded and I am having trouble with S's , T's, Ch, and Sh. So don't worry that you got the wrong kind of retainer. It seems a problem with both kinds. I like my lower bonded too.

Well...i have some advice for people who want removable bottom hawleys....

DON'T GET THEM!!!

Omg, my bottom hawleys are TERRIBLE. I'm calling in on monday to see if i can get a bonded lower retainer. I just can't deal with all the sores that the bottom one gives me, and it affects my speech the most, the top one doesn't even phase me.

So i would say...

Go with the bonded lower retainer lol. All these sores, and my horendous speech impediment just aren't worth it >.<

Blah i thought that i was done!! I guess not lol
