Decalcification?

When I had my braces put on, I walked out of the office and immediately noticed nasty white spots on my two front teeth that I had never noticed before. It scared me but they were gone within a few hours. Lately, I have noticed when my teeth get really dry those same white spots show up again. I've only had my braces for 2 months. Is this decalcification or something else?

I appreciate your response. If it is decalicification why does it only appear when my teeth are extremely dry and then go away? Does this mean they will most likely be permanant in the future?

I do use special fluoride toothpaste and do use fluoride mouthwash. These spots appeared the day I had braces put on so I know its not from the braces being worn.

Whats this fluorosis you talk about?

After reading the post by Lucy, I did some research on the fluorisis. My teeth, when dried, look exactly like the top left pic here http://www.fluoridealert.org/dental-fluorosis.htm .

If it is fluorsis will it continue to get worse? It says it comes from too much fluoride. I've always had tap water. Can you get too much fluoride from tap water? Should I stop using the fluoride rinse?

Dr. J I would appreciate your comments on what it could be and how it will progress. Thank you!

But I doubt I would ever have noticed it even it had always been there.

Are you sure it's not just some residue from the cement? I know that I have a little bit on a few of my teeth.
