chipping teeth

#1 Post by Maggie »

I have braces and two of my teeth have chipped and I now have what I guess you would call bonding on those two teeth. My dentist has told me on a few occasions that I have very weak teeth. I guess my question is, is there anything I can do to prevent further chipping of my teeth? Even though my teeth are straighter, they still look horrible in my opinion because I have modeling of the teeth due to lack of enamel and my teeth are kind of uneven. I am guessing that what I should do is see a cosmetic dentist once my braces are removed to see what my options are. My aunt mentioned one time getting some kind of protective coating painted on to her teeth, but my dentist didn't seem to know what she was talking about. Also, approximitly how much would it cost to fix uneven teeth and get something done about the modeling?
