Bonded Expander and Singing Next Day?

Hello, new to the boards. My daughter is an acoustic musician and will be getting a bonded expander put in on a Thursday and has a scheduled gig that next day, Friday. We're new to all of this and I'm wondering if we should cancel the gig so that her tongue can get used to the expander...so that is my question. For those that have experienced the expander, do you think it's wise to do a gig the day after or maybe wait a week or two so that her tongue/mouth can get used to having the expander in. Thanks for your help.
