My disappointing orthognathic surgery experience

#1 Post by widejaw »

Hi,

soon it will be 5 years since I had my double jaw surgery. In addition to a double jaw surgery, I also underwent two sliding genioplasties. Overall, my entire treatment experience is pretty disappointing. I went ahead and created a dedicated website at http://myorthognathic.surgery which I hope will be helpful to those who are planning on undergoing a jaw surgery or have already undergone one.

I put braces five months ago, but the base metal of the two front teeth slanting. This led to make these two teeth slanting. I asked the doctor and he replied that it would be amended, but I feel it is getting worse. What should I do?

Difficult to say without looking at photos. What I do know is that when you wear braces teeth move and jaws change. This may result in unpleasant aesthetic appearance, which usually stays up until after surgery. If you wish, you may send me some photos (use the contact form on my website for attachments).
