Metal band pain?

Hi! I'm new here and a tad confused. I just got metal bands in! The only problem is that they always seem "itchy" and I tend to grind and push down hard to maybe alleviate it? When I push down a little bit my right top bands hurts a bit. Is this normal and should it pass with time?

Are you referring to molar bands?

I can't say that I've ever had an itchy feeling with my braces. This sounds like it could be the onset of an allergic reaction to the metal in your bands, so I would call your orthodontist immediately.

Agree with other poster, call your orthodontist and get it checked out.
