I'm super happy for you! Congrats on your May de-brace date! That's awesome!

I'm getting a lower behind the teeth permanent retainer and a sometimes he mentions doing that on the top front teeth too. I'm hoping not - as I really will be a good retainer wearer.

Your smile looks great - I'm looking forward to seeing your final pictures when they are OFF!

Sitting at the orthodontist office waiting to be called to have my braces taken off! I still can't believe how fast this day has come. Excited and nervous.

And they are off!

Pretty quick and painless. Some of the ceramic brackets do break when removing and then there is extra time with removing all the glue. I had the permanent bottom retainer installed. It is only glued to the bottom canines. I was under the impression that it was attached to all the teeth. It will make flossing so much easier.

I think my teeth came out great! They look so white. I was stuck in traffic on my way home and could not help but stare at them in the mirror.... I go back in two days for my retainers. The paperwork that I got says to wear them 14 hours a day. I plan on wearing mine as much as I can.

The other surprise today we're all the other adult patients in the office. I usually had my appointments after work and of course that is after school for all the kiddos. Today's appointment was at 10 am. Yep, all the patients were adults.

I will post pictures as soon!

Here is my naked teeth picture. Sorry for the delay in posting but May is a very busy month for me.

I love the way they have come out. I was not too picky about a few things (mid-line is off and slight over jet) but I got corrected the things that were important to me. :jump:

I would encourage anyone at any age to go for your dreams of having a beautiful smile.

I was so nervous even to make an appointment at an orthodontist office at my age. Now that it is over I am so happy I did it and love the end result. The time really did just fly by.

Good luck to all!

Beautiful! I'll be doing cartwheels if I get a similar result. In the meantime, I'll have to settle for seeing that my user name just turned green, so I've got that going for me today.

Yey, super story, and your teeth look fab! I'm only a few days into my retainers, and it is sooooooooooo nice not getting food stuck in my braces! It's great to have straight teeth, I'm in my 40's and wish I had done it years ago! Happy smiling

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

I am surprised how many people did notice I got my braces off and complimented me on my teeth. Brushing and flossing is so nice and easy.

On a side note, on my golf league I got paired up yesterday with another lady golfer who has braces on. She is 68 years old. She was surprised to learn that I just got mine off. We actually go to the same orthodontist and started the same month. She was an Invisalign patient at first but has been sporting the radiance braces the last three months. Of course all we talked about was braces the entire time we were golfing. It was a great night. I hope I helped her and put her more at ease with being an older adult with braces on.

Hi, I was pleased to read in your comment that someone aged 68 had braces. At last , someone older than me! When I started with braces I thought I will be 65 and an old age pensioner by the time I get these things off. Well I am the first two now but still have braces. Hopefully they will be off in four or five months. Can't imagine life without them. Also can't wait to get rid of them. Especially those double elastics.

Hi Uptown Girl, glad to hear from you. Life without braces is great but there is still the daily retainers to pop in and out. At least I can take them out when I want a casual few hours and feel normal again...lol.... My teeth are just starting to firm up where I can eat more things. They were pretty wobbly after the braces came off.

How are your teeth coming along? Are you happy with your progress? You will be so happy when you actually get a debonding date! A reason to celebrate!

Keep me posted!
