Another question, did you schedule multiple appointments and hop around ot them all or one at a time and just see what they said, THEN get to the next, I don't want to seem too eager but at the same time I just want my braces on and be done.

How many consultations did you have before you decided.
Well, I have my first consultation on Tuesday... and then I'd like to check out two more orthodontics and one dentist that offers the 6 month smile.... My husband says to go to 5 or 6, and I say that the 4 are plenty.... I was just wondering what some of you did. I don't want to jump into anything but at the same time I'm kind of ready for this journey to just begin already. Now that I've decided to do it, Im ready to jump in with all feet and Ithink I'm more conscious of my smile... it seems like everyone around me has a beautiful smileand here I sit with my hand over my mouth when I laugh. Hate it.

Why don't you see 3, then go from there. If they're all vastly different from each other you probably need to see more, if they're all very similar then pick your favourite out of them.
We saw 2 with my daughter and went with the 2nd. Price was the same as the first but the office was much more impressive and the staff far nicer. They also offered newer technology than the first office.
When it came time for mine we just saw my daughters ortho and I didn't bother with a 2nd opinion.

Called/Emailed about 8. Whittled that down to three, with three completely different treatment plans. (Primary issue is closing a gap from a extracted molar)
1) Three years, slow movement, won't use tads. About $6800.
2) Two years, with Tads, $6400, but gave a bunch of discounts for doing it with my kids and prepaying, so ended up being about $5200.
3) Wouldn't touch my case with a ten foot pole.
Went with #2, just hope they know what they are doing.

I went to three. The first two wanted to pull teeth, then I shopped around for a functional ortho, and went with him (the only one within driving distance).

2 had the same treatment plan, except for price difference
1 was regular braces for 2 yrs
1 was recommending that I see a jaw surgeon.
I am leaning toward the same treatment place.

In the past 3 week I went to 7 orthodontics and I think finally decided.
The most important thing for me was the personality and the professionality of the doctor. I need to be honest and open with my doc and I'd like one who knows what she's doing (yes, I prefer female doctors, I don't know why)
I think that at least 3-4 opinions are necessary to see clearly your situation and then you can decide which doctor to pick (by sympathy, finances, etc)
Good luck with picking the best!
