I will be 50 later this year, and after a comment from my husband - what a funny smile I had with a tooth missing - I realised that the way my teeth were wonky one side gave the appearance that one was missing. I visited my son's orthodontist, who explained the options, and I decided to go for it and get top and bottom braces, to get them straightened. I had just become very self concious of my wierd smile and winced at photos of myself.
I'm four months in now and have had a mixed reaction from friends and colleagues. I have had the clear brackets put on the front so they are not quite so noticeable, which has helped. What do other members think of going for this braces at my age?

I feel reasonably confident that I have made the right decision for me, but would be interested to hear what other peoples experiences have been.
