Hey everyone,
Been posting a bit on the board and thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Shae, I'm 18 and from Sydney. Whoooo go AUSSIES!! (Any other aussies here?)
I'm currently 10 days post-op from BSSO (don't you just love the liquid diets and no going to the gym?), and have had my braces since mid December last year.
G'day from Sydney

Hi Shae and welcome from another Aussie (but from the other side of the country). I'm a fellow surgery survivor, Augustt 15th will be my 1 year post-op anniversary.
You'll start feeling much better in the next couple of weeks. I had upper and lower jaw surgery and genioplasty, and felt ready to face the world by 2 weeks after surgery. Try and stay positive as I think this really helps with your recovery, and even though you can't get to the gym, try going for walks as a little exercise helps a lot too.
Try and take one day at a time, and before you know it, you'll be back on a solid diet again. I was quite fortunate in that respect, as my surgeon gave me the okay to eat squishy food that I could squeeze between my teeth (as I was banded and couldn't open very wide) so I was eating scrambled eggs, jelly and icecream, porridge and similar sorts of foods within 1 day of surgery - washed down with lots of liquids.

Hey everyone and thanks for the welcome!
It's been a while since I've been here and posted, been busy with uni and all. I'm now 7 weeks post-op and will be able to return to the gym in a week's time! Whooooo
Though, I am not sure that I'm 100% happy with my BSSO - I mean don't get me wrong it's great, but I dunno... - I'm contemplating having a genioplasty done...
