Hi! Newbie here!

Hello, I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I am from Birmingham, Alabama
I am going to have my braces put on Aug 10th. I am 23 and I was a little worried about being older and having braces until today. This woman came into the office I work at and she had braces on top and bottom, and she was 56!!! So that made me feel not so bad.
I know I said I am 23 like that is really old, but I have been married 5 years, so for some reason that makes me feel like I am older than what I really am. LOL!

... that's quite sad! My hubby and I have been married neraly 28 years and our relationship still feels as young as ever.
Awww, I didn't mean it that way... I just meant that I feel a lot older or more mature than a lot of other people that are my age because I'm married and responsible. My hubby and I have a great relationship, I just have the mind set of someone who is much older.
I swear, I am eating anything and everything now that I don't think I will be able to eat on or after my Bday!

Welcome cs, we have one thing in common, my braces day will be Aug 10th also. We can compare notes and pic in the days following. btw I am a young 43

oh! How cool is that? I am doing mine in the afternoon, that way I don't have to go back to work and I will have the weekend to try and recoop a little bit.

... but what does this mean:
On your b-day ...
* go to the toilet

It means go to the bathroom and take a leak, because if you're to be in the chair for an hour or more your bladder might feel like it's going to burst.

My appt is also in the afternoon. I am having mine done on the last day of vacation, so hopefully by Monday when I go back to work, things will have settled down and I am doing ok.

Welcome aboard. Please take the advise from KK, The day i got my tops on, i didn't go to the bathroom first...and i by time it was done...i didn't care about what my mouth looked or felt like...i just wanted to go to the bathroom. Oh and lip balm....make sure you use that....it really helped.
By the way, i am not much older than you are. I am 27 and married also.
Best of luck...my 6th month anniversary with braces is on August 8th.
