Joined this very exclusive club (actually it's pretty inclusive, I think, given that I've seen people from all over the world here!) on Monday 11-29. I got started to correct what I thought were cosmetic crowding problems, but it turned out I have crossbite and midline problems that need "work" too. Went with ceramics upper and lower - full bands on 4 molars - with archwires tied in with little twist tie things... no colors for me!

The Archwired site and forum sure helped me understand what I was in for, but words really can't capture especially the first feeling of having all the "foreign material" in your mouth. I'm still adjusting to the fullness, irritation, dry lips, drooling, clean up, etc., etc, etc that go with these things. But... I did it by my own choice, and it will be worth it when I get out of tooth jail 18 or so months from now, right?????

My daughter is training as a physical therapist. She also has regular physical therapy for a number of injuries (she is a dancer).

Her PT said to her one day "just remember, the aim of the PT is to inflict so much pain on the patient that they forget their original pain"
