Hello! And thanks!

#1 Post by ReaJT »

Hi everyone! I am a 32 year old who has just had ceramic upper and lower braces fitted a week ago. I just wanted to say hi and also thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences, advice and wisdom on this board as I have done a lot of reading over the past week and it has been really helpful :-)

I have really struggled this week with sores, I think I had one at the site of every bracket with a hook (which is them all except the front four) for a few days and I was worried I’d be one of these people it never seems to resolve for. Thankfully tho they seem to be healing in all but two places, and I can almost chew again! Yay! I might get a solid(ish) Christmas dinner after all! Hope everyone else here is well and sore free! :D

Congratulations on taking the plunge! As you've read - and now experienced - the first week is something you'd like to quickly forget, but it sounds like you're about past it now. Good luck and enjoy watching the improvement in the coming months.

I had braces as a teen and I don't remember it being all that painful. I am getting braces again for the 2nd time tomorrow around to fix the undesired result from my 1st braces treatment. I am looking forward to the pain associated with braces. Have you gotten use to having braces yet?

My apologies, I meant *not* looking forward to the pain associated with braces. I think the pain will imminently come, but I hope it won't be too bad.
