Braces at 33

#1 Post by komakino »

Hi. I'm a new here, if you couldn't already see by my 0 posts. I haven't got braces yet but I've booked in for a consultation to see what it all involves and what can be done for me!

I'm 33 female and live in Manchester. Its been a recent development of a moving tooth that has pushed me to think about braces. I've never been to bothered about my teeth as despite them being crowded on the bottom and larger front teeth at the top its not worried me but in the last year or so my bottom incisor has moved meaning my already crowded bottom teeth have gone worse. So anyway I've decided to get them fixed.

Im going to go in there with an open mind regarding treatment, if it can be avoided I don't want teeth to be taken out but if that's what needs to happen then il go along with it. I'm looking at Damon clear braces if possible.

Hi,
I did it at 40 wish I would have done sooner!! Mine fixed my tmj clicking I had all my life!! My teeth started moving as I got older as well... The sooner the better I believe it sucks to clean them but around our age time goes plenty fast anyways:-)
I also use the acceledent which for me has been wonderful so you might want to ask your ortho about it!
Waterpik, oral B threader floss (Amazon), and dental picks (they look like mini Christmas trees) will all be a necessity!!
Any questions let me know :D

I am 33 and just got my braces put on yesterday! Having a bit of a rough start but keep telling myself the end result will be worth it.

The 33 club! I'm in it too! 4 weeks in for me and sounds like my issues are very similar to the original poster. I've seen loads of movement on the top but very little on the bottom. What's everyone else's timescales? I've been told inside 1 year

Hi, I'm 36 and just got braces on 4 days ago. I'm already grateful I did it because my cheeks were starting to sink in and that seems to be remedied already and my jaw tension is pretty much gone. At first I was dreading having a mouth full of metal and rubber bands for the next two years but now I'm hoping that by the six month mark I'll see some movement. I just have to remind myself that without braces my teeth and jaw would only get worse as I age. Good luck!
