IN PAIN - 10 Months After Implant

In March of last year I had an implant placed on a lower molar which I posted about. It never felt 100% but I was OK with it. Once in a while I would have a tinge of pain if I bit down a certain way. The last couple of days I have been having pain which is increasing and I am having a hard time chewing. I contacted the dentist who will be out of the office until next week. It feels like I may have an abscess. Something is definitely wrong. Wondering if someonne has had any type of similar experience and what was done for it?

Update to this topic- after several days of pain, I got in to see the dentist and he ground down the surface of the crown and the molar above it so the bite would fit better when I chew. It has made a huge difference. Occasionally, still get the pain when I am chewing something very "chewy" but it is much better. So glad, hope it doesn't happen again.

Interesting. So the bite was off? Glad and fingers crossed that it appears to be a relatively easy fix.

It was amazing how much pain having the bite off just a little bit could cause. Better so far thankfully.
