I am having my Invisalign braces put in tomorrow. It cost me $4050 (all inclusive). I will be getting 19 attachments - 10 lower / 9 upper.

This seems like a lot of them?!

However, with that being said, my dentist is a VERY respected Southern California orthodontist, and he suggested Invisialign for 7 months and change aligners every 21 days + follow-up visits every 9 weeks. I also rather have "too many" attachments than "not enough". Besides, I probably shouldn't worry about it since Invisalign recommended 19 attachments based on my case.

My case is very slight. I believe most (if not all) of my attachments will be placed in the back. There's one tooth that needs slight rotation into place on my upper front jaw (hence the odd number 19). So, the change will mostly be on my molars to fix my bite (as much as possible at least).


How many attachments do you have? Do they cause blisters?

I am also from Southern Calif, but I have double the amount of aligners that you do. Also, my cost is much higher. The more aligners Invisalign makes, the more you pay (I guess)...
Attachments - do you mean "speed bumps". If yes, I have 5 total. 4 on top, one on bottom. They are covered by the trays, so they do not cause any discomfort.
As far as the trays - everyone is different. In my case, they do cause sores and blisters the first few days, until I file them down with a nail file and make them smooth. (takes about three days for my satisfaction)
Wax on my trays helps when it is very bad - like TODAY!

The reason Im confused is because you said your attachment are being placed in the back - therefore, I dont think you are talking about your trays???

I meant the "buttons" attached to the teeth, not the actual plastic aligners. Sorry.

u guys are lucky try having 46 trays on top and 32 on bottom first year i see nothing because the trays are just closing my extraction sites

anyone here have a problem with the attachments coming off. So far I have had 5 of them fall off.
The first time it was the bottom two, the ortho put them back on, this was during my first tray.
The second time it was one of the top ones, this was on the second tray. Then on my third tray another one of the top fell off, once again the ortho put it back on when I went to get my other 3 trays.
Right now I am on the fourth one and one of the bottom ones came off, he said not to worry unless another one falls off.
It's really ticking me off though becuase I really hate having to go back to get them put back on and getting them filed again. Is it the glue he is using or are there other people out there with the same problem.

I am only 27 weeks into treatment. But so far, I havent had any buttons fall off. (I have five) I heard - but dont know this for sure, but I heard the acid in the soda eats the cement away. So, I dont drink soda since I got invisalign.
I also saw on another posting, that someone had the same problems as you and her ortho was using a cement that wasnt holding correctly. The ortho changed the cement/glue (whatever it is called) and she hasnt had any problems since.
