I just got mine on the 18th. I have 10 Upper 24Lower.. I don't have a lisp and they don't hurt that much at all. Is it true that the first set don't really do anything?
Also, is it true that we have to take calcium pills because of the moving around of the teeth?
Finally, I have 2 bumps on my lower teeth right now. Is it normal for the dentist to add more later? Or is this all I"m going to have (i hope soo!).
Thanks!

I don`t know the answer to your ? but you have answered mine which I posted to which nobody replied. I had asked if your speech is affected, your comments have somewhat reasured me a bit, did anyone spot you had a your invisalign on?
I am getting 48 on the top and 30 on the bottom in 2 weeks.

My speech was and still is different. I have a lisp. I ask my dr and others if this will go away. My doctor says I have a very narrow mouth, therefore my tounge is always rubbing my teeth and invisilign, which is causing the lisp. My lisp is noticable enough to me, that I find myself saying sorry, after I speak. Or even aplogizing before I start to talk. I find myself speaking slower, so I dont have a bad lisp. The lisp doesnt bother that much. I do talk on the phone all day at work and some people have noticed a little (my very good friends) and some people dont notice at all. (at least they dont say anything) I think everyone is different, perhaps like my dr said... depending on the shape of the mouth.
I hope this helps a lil.

BTW - I want to clarify something... when I said my speech "was and still is" I meant WAS - when I first started invisalign ... AND STILL IS - meaning, I am now on my 6 th tray. My speech was perfect before Invisalign. Also, I want to say, I am very happy with Invisalign, even though I do have a lisp.
Excuse my mistakes in spelling and grammar.. I am at work and in a hurry!

4th day with them on.. 1st day in public public. gave a presentation, tutored, chatted. no one said anything. at first i thought that some people were looking at me funny but i think i was just paranoid. but now im wondering (since so many people have had bad experiences) whether i'm just gettin the goods since it's my first tray. did most people start feeling more pain and having more of a lisp after their 1st? did you REALLy have a lisp during your 1st?My doc also said that I have a small mouth and I'd have a lisp..

My lisp is always pretty bad for the first week of each new tray. My teeth hurt bad the first 5 days of each new change of tray. They stop hurting after the fifth day. (Im only on my sixth tray) I remember my teeth hurt really bad on the first week of the first tray.
BUT my 6th tray (which I am on now) hurt like heck the first week. More so than any of them. I am on my 9 days of sixth tray - no ache, hurt, headaches, nothing. Very little lisp. But guarantee, when I go to my seventh tray the first week is going to hurt again. The doctor said that my teeth are moving really fast and that is why I am so comfortable with invisalign.
I have to say, when I look at my teeth in the mirror, I feel I only notice a slight difference and get frustrated, but when I compare my # 1 tray with my # 7 tray (I have at home), there is a huge difference. So, I think I just forgot how bad my teeth were in the beginning.

before I start invisalign I have to have 4 extractions 2 on top and 2 on bottom I think that straight after my extractions I start to wear the trays I thought that I would need time to heal could be the teeth start to move after extractions??. Also from the clincheck video I will not see any changes to my overbite because for the first year the trays only move the back teeth which is a bit frustraighting I dont know if the same princibles apply to a normal brace??
