Attachments are on. :(

Hello Everyone,

I just got back from my ortho visit. I got my attachments and some IPR. Since I have crowns and veneers, they had to do some special prep for the attachments to adhere properly. They really went at the teeth hard core with a dremel like tool and the result was very rough. I sure hope they will polish back up and don't attract stains now. The attachments are super noticible on my upper canine teeth. Much worse than I was expecting. There is nothing discrete about them. They are mounted on the edge closest to my laterals and very close to the bottom edge of the teeth, and now, there is a lot of extra room in the aligner for spit bubbles to collect. Ugh. Ugh. UGH.

Don't worry! I have like 14, and one on each top front tooth. You get used to them pretty quickly. Most people will not notice them unless you point them out, or they are all up in your grill

What I have noticed is the glue around the attachments kind of turning a dark color, not the attachment itself. im hoping someone knows a trick to get rid of it. But, even still, they are not terribly noticeable.

It is not uncommon for our Invisalign patients to be worried about the appearance of attachments. The truth is that patients notice them more themselves than other people do. Most of our patients realize that no one else sees them, apart from others who also have Invisalign :).

The positive outlook is that they are far more discreet than braces! :D
