Can my top left front tooth move back to its original place after wearing 3 aligners for 3.5 weeks?

Discussions about treatment with invisible braces that use clear aligners, such as Invisalign, OrthoClear, the Red White and Blue system, etc.

Can my top left front tooth move back to its original place after wearing 3 aligners for 3.5 weeks?

#1 Post by formyteeth »

I started to wear aligner tray 3.5 weeks ago. I changed the aligner tray every week required by my orthodontic. After 3.5 weeks (first week: tray #1, second week: tray #2, third week: tray #3, the first 3 days of the fourth week: tray #3), then I just stopped it because my serious health issue. But my top left front tooth becomes outward now and looks a little ugly, will it move back to its original place? If not, what I should do? Do I need wear the aligner back from tray #3 to #2 to #1? Too bad I already throw out the aligner #1, still have the #2.

Before treatment, my top left central incisor is ok but left lateral incisor is inward, so I think the treatment at beginning is make the left lateral incisor to be outward first and then adjust the left centre incisor, because my serious health issue, I have to stop and will not continue the treatment, I am worried if the top let central incisor will not move back to its original place? What I should do? So worried about this…any one know it? Thank you very much first.

You need to call your ortho or dentist to find out if you should fall back.

Don't throw out aligners until you have your doc's blessing (and even then I would say at least keep them until the end of treatment because then you can see a before and after)
The problems:
Lower crowding, a slightly rotated upper canine and a deep bite

Unfortunately the teeth do not shift back in succession. In other words, the teeth move from aligner 1 to 2 to 3, but do not shift back from 3 to 2 to 1. It is possible that one of the aligners will fit better than the others and you can get back on track, but it is not always, nor often the case.

As mentioned above, best to visit your doctor to discuss. Good luck!
