I know what you mean about that enamel, it is more precious than gold! Oh, and I chickened out of wearing my aligners for the first few days. A lot of the time, I will be working alone, so I think I will try to disguise things as long as possible. 8)

The lisp isn't THAT bad at first. And it does go away. It depends on how many bite ramps you end up with to start and where exactly you normally speak from - if you make a lot of your sounds from the palate you'll be fine. Warning though, it could reappear slightly with a new set of aligners - especially if the bite ramps change.

Do you have any attachments? If so, not wearing the aligners might really drive you mad because of the feeling of them uncovered.
