Since Sonic Brite is no longer available, I was searching for alternatives, and learned about Fresh Guard by Efferdent.

Has anyone tried it? What do you think of it compared to Retainer Brite?

Lynn, do you plan to carry this product?

Thanks!

SonicBrite may be available again in a few months. I don't have solid details on that yet.

I will look in to Fresh Guard.

I know this post is a bit old but I recently got a starter package of Fresh Guard from my ortho to try out and I finally did, and I hated it. Thankfully I waited to try it on the day when I changed them because afterwards I could not keep the trays in my mouth. I tried this yesterday.

I soaked them for the recommended time then rinsed like they said but they had a chemical smell, like a dirty chlorine pool, so I brushed them with some soap and that didn't help, then I soaked them for 30 minutes in peroxide/water mix and that didn't help either. Finally I brushed them with some toothpaste and left the toothpaste sit in the trays for a few minutes but after rinsing that out the smell was still there. I tried to put the trays back in but they had a very bad chemical taste and I gave up after wearing them a few minutes and just switched my trays to the next ones. Those trays have now been sitting on the bathroom counter over night and they still smell horrible so I don't know what the deal is.

I can't compare it to Sonic Brite because I've never used it, but I will never use Fresh Guard again. Soaking the trays in half peroxide half water works great and doesn't leave a disturbing taste/smell afterwards.

I just got a tweet from @sonicbrite that it was acquired by @danleePulse (Danlee Medical Products).

I also tried Fresh Guard and I didn't like it either. In fact, it seems like the product would get into the air and I would inhale it!

Hopefully Lynn starts to carry SonicBrite again soon!

Indeed, I just learned that DentaKit.com should have SonicBrite back in stock again in a few weeks!

When it's back in stock, I'll make an announcement on the forum.
