First day with Invisalign

#1 Post by Kelo »

Hi everyone

I have just started with my first tray, 13 attachments in total, but so far so good!
My top aligner is irritating my tongue slightly, has anyone got any tips on what I can do to stop this from happening?

Maybe I just need to get use to the trays in my mouth! :)

Thanks for any advice! :D

I had some issues with a tray being a bit too 'hard' on my tongue, but got used to it pretty fast. Hang in there, it will get better. And don't forget, wear your aligners AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Some say at least 20 hours/day, make sure you do wear them as much as humanly possible. Take them out to eat, clean your teeth and then pop them back up :)

Yes, I would say that initially they can be a little "uncomfortable" but with time you will grow used to them and may even forget that they are in your mouth at times. And, as dojo mentioned, make sure to wear them as much as possible.

New to the site. Been wearing Invisalign for 6 days now. I find that I have to "speed" eat so I can stay within the 22 hour window. Alas, I'm losing weight. So that's good. =)

Thanks so much for the advice, it is certainly an adjustment but I am definitely getting there! :D

I know what you mean about speed eating Lucascsula! I have been setting a timer to make sure all of my meals are within the 2 hours a day. On the upside my teeth are already looking brighter with all of the brushing and flossing!

A clean nail file can be used to smooth out any uncomfortable edges. As the aligner adapts to your teeth, the edges will also stick out less. Give it some time. Good luck!
