Hi all. I've followed this site throughout my 2 year 3 month invisalign treatment, which finished for the top set of teeth last week. I'm delighted with the straightness of my teeth but lierally the day i got my bonded retainer on the back, i notice white patches on my front 4 teeth. They are quite unsightly! So now i have lovely straight teeth for the first time (i'm 41) that i want show off i can't because of these patches! My dental hygiene was merticulous throughout my treatment. It was the first time the retainer had been off for more tan an hour so i wondered if that had any effect?
I am back at the ortho a week wednesday to gt the attchments filed off of the bottom set so will bring this up with him but wondered if anyone else had experienced this at all? Thanks

Did you get any answers? I noticed white marks in two of my front teeth but since I still have attachments on I assumed they were glue. Now I'm starting to worry a little. I am rigorous with my hygiene but since spit settles in there sometimes I worry that the saliva is acidy or something. Please let me know when you find your answers. Good luck!

Hi there. My appointment got changed to this week so i will find out more and let you know. The white patches have actually faded a little, but they do seem to be more prominent in the mornings. Like you i was rigourous with my hygiene. Hopefully the ortho will be able to assure us!

Hi there. The ortho mentioned that it is enamel hypoplasma. He didnt seem too concerned at all. The patches have faded a lot thankfully and seemed to have improved now that i have my night retainer. I am using enamel guard toothpaste and mouthwash now which helps.

good luck with your treatment!
