Freaking Out

Hi all,

Longtime lurker, occasional poster here, and I need some help.

I decided to take the plunge and go for invisalign and now I'm having MAJOR regrets. Of course I paid before I got the ClinCheck back (stupid, I know - but that was this ortho's policy), and now I just found out that my treatment time will be 20 months!!! My teeth aren't even that bad! I don't think I care about their appearance enough to deal with invisalign for 20 months! On top of all that, I was planning on leaving town and travelling in a year's time... now that doesn't seem possible because my treatment won't be done. The ortho says I should just go ahead and cross that bridge when we get to it, but I don't think it's a good idea.

I also found out I'll need 11 attachments, including two on my front teeth. I'm just feeling super uncomfortable with the whole thing now, and I guess I'm just looking for advice. The person in charge of invisalign at the office says the aligners are being manufactured and therefore they've already paid invisalign. I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

If there's no chance of getting any money back then I think the decision has been made for you

£4000 ish? is a lot of money.

I still go out and enjoy myself with mine. I just take them out when i go out. Up to six hours sometimes.

The y haven't really hampered me at all. Not one person has noticed mine with or without the trays in.

Good luck

Here's a completely honest and unbiased blog from one of my hygienists who is in her early 20s and had a lot of concerns about aesthetics. The truth is that you will feel more conscious about the attachments than how often other people will notice. http://invisaligntoronto.blogspot.ca/20 ... ments.html
