In a panic!!!

#1 Post by Nicole882 »

What happens if I get a cavity during my Invisalign treatment? Does anyone know? I am in a little bit of a panic here - will a filling alter the fit of my aligners??
Please let me know!

Hi Nicole,

I start my treatment on Monday and I asked my ortho (also my dentist) the same thin and they said not to worry, that the filling would not be significant enough to affect the way your aligners fit. He did recommend cutting down on sugary foods and drinks to help prevent problems which will be hard for me but I figure if I get straight teeth out of the deal and lose a few pounds I can sacrifice  He also says brushing and flossing after every meal is key so don’t worry cavity or not you will be just fine!

i have had invisalign for a little over 3 months now. I had a cavity a few weeks ago - I got it filled right away and I didn't have any problems - the aligner still fit fine.
