End of week 2

#1 Post by Mr Rich Uk »

Just about to go onto my 2nd tray, so this is the first one nearly over and done with, and a few lessons learned.

If you're going to go out drinking beer all night, probably best to just take them out for the night (even though my ortho will probably kill me if he knows I said that) as they smelt really bad when I went to clean them before bed.

They do get kinda smelly at all points of the day I've noticed and I have become rather conscious about breath, but apparently it's not noticeable. But I've got some toothpaste with mouthwash built in, and I'm scrubbing them with that after every meal now.

If you haven't had them yet and you want to know what it's like, with me I've hardly noticed any pain with the first set. It's kind of weird in the first week when you take them off and eat because you can tell your teeth have moved, and it's a very odd feeling. I've also noticed that I get saliva bubbles underneath the aligners, which can look kind of odd.

I've made a little something which shows the two different views of my treatment. If you roll your mouse over each image, it should change to the target my ortho has for me.

Not quite sure when my attachments will be going on yet as I can't remember, but he did tell me. As you can see, I do need to have one put on the lateral incisor that needs to be rotated, not going to have that put on for a while yet. Once it starts to be moved he'll put one on there to give it extra leverage.

What a cool way of showing your start/end Clinchecks! How did you do that?

Your teeth will look great once they are done :) Your treatment seems quite similar to mine - a crossbite to fix on the lateral incisors but your back teeth already look pretty good.

It's a bit of javascript. If you are able to create your own web pages, this is the code.

The four images are called before.jpg/after.jpg (front view) and before_birdseye.jpg and after_birdseye.jpg (birdseye view). From there you can work out which bits you need to change.

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

  var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc;
}

function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0

But then again if you don't know much about Webpages, you're probably going to look at that and say "WTF?"

Can you chew sugar free gum with these things in? I should get clincheck this week.
