I'm currently on my second set of Invisalign and I have yet to feel any pain. I have minor gaps that need to be corrected. I read on the internet and my dentist told me that there will be some pressure and discomfort at first but I abosuletly feel no pain. && They Are A Snug Fit. Does anybody else feel like this and is my treatment going to work?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Everyone is different in terms of how much pain they feel, even in doing a similar type of movement. Just consider yourself one of the lucky ones! It often takes awhile to 'see' much change with invisalign, unlike with braces - don't be discouraged. Resist the urge to move ahead of schedule with the next aligner just because you don't feel pain, this is a recipe for disaster.

Hello! I'm on day 8 of 2/12 to close a 4.5 mm gap in my 2 front teeth and to close a small overbite. I havent had anything which i would call pain yet. On the first couple of days of a new tray i do feel some pressure, but havent felt the need to take any painkillers at all. The 2 attachments i got on the 2nd tray do increase the difficulty of removing them. I would imagine the more difficult the case, the more pain people have. Ive wanted this for so long, (im 46) i doubt my attitude of joy will LET me feel any pain!

That's what I thought too. Maybe I'm looking forward to it so much I just don't feel any pain. THanks everybody for your replies!

It is also worth noting that, for me at least, that the level of pain or pressure (normally it is just pressure) varies with each aligner. I am on #12 and so far there have only been 1 or 2 aligners for each the bottom or the top that have applied a lot of pressure, 1 of which was so unbearable that it was still uncomfortable a couple of days later. I just put a new one in last night and it is one of the least uncomfortable in terms of pressure that I have had. I think that some teeth are just more sensitive to the pressure and it must be that none of those teeth are moving on this set.

i usually only feel some pain when i take them out to eat the first day or two. other than that, it just feels like a little pressure. that goes away pretty quck. i sometimes get a headache the first day of a new tray, though.

I normally feel discomfort or dull pressure for the first day or two after changing aligners - but only when I am taking them out or putting them back in. Sometimes I can even tell which particular teeth are making the most movement with the changed tray. There have been times when my ortho has adjusted the aligners to make them tighter (using a tool that looks like a hole puncher to make lots of little indentations on the trays). There is significantly more pressure them. Consider yourself lucky!
