financial press about Invisalign cost to providers

I hope these links work for everyone. The first three are from yahoo finance, and the last is from ALGN website press releases from 2005.

All discuss pricing issues to Invisalign providers. Now you will know what it cost your dentist or orthodontist to use Invisalign on you. Of course these prices don't include your dentist/ortho's expertise and time spent with you, etc.

I do hope that Invisalign is a good or GREAT product, cuz I'm in the midst of treatment. But if too many incentives are given to use Invisalign, isn't there a chance that at times it won't be prescribed appropriately?

Good luck to everyone,

p.s. - reading through these articles again, I do get the feeling (or hope) that Invisalign has the best product support, and the best technology. Patent limitations on OrthoClear and RedWhiteBlue would mean they have to change their technology slightly to not run afoul of patent laws. The first article below is particularly positive about Invisalign success.

I think its definetly possible it could be used to often because of incentives but that's how it works too in the medical field. I think with Invisalign the temptation for orthos/dentists/etc is that they can make a lot more money (time spent on patient, supplies needed, etc) if a patient goes with Invisalign vs going the traditional route. With some people the amount the make is more important than what is in the patients best interests. Its a delicate balance.

Align Tech also presently offers THREE refinements at no additional cost in USA, thats not what a letter I was given said to me £250 ($464) for 1 revision (20% chance) but if thats just the ortho making some extra money or just because I live in rip off Uk who knows lets face if the new prices you quoted is a hell of a lot better than this:
4,000.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 7,435.71 USD United States Dollars

also the letter states that there is a 15% chance that to obtain the very best alignment in my type of treatment as some of the back teeth may tip slightly and need uprighting which by the way is exactly what has happened so im interested to see if my ortho will speak the truth when i go next friday for my next 3 sets.

one other thing on the form iv signed and everyone else who is being treated on the first page under procedure it says (some patients may require bonded aesthetic attachments and/or elastics on there teeth during treatment to facilitate specific dental movements) the bit im interested in is the word elastics because that is what i would need on a fixed brace to upright my molars.

one last thing iv noticed there is no email address for invisalign thats convenient ist it
