How do you get used to Invisalign (Help!!)

Hi all,

I am on day 6 of my first tray and have 20 to go. What I am wondering is..... how on earth do you get used to having these things in your mouth, they are driving me crazy!! Taking them out and putting them in isn't too much of a problem so far. I can also cope with the tooth-brushing routine (it's a bit of a pain but hey) It's the feel of them in my mouth that I'm finding really hard to cope with. Keep getting claustrophopic, panicky feelings and want to take them out. No idea how I can handle this for 10 months..... I am really hoping that I get used to them. Anyone out there had the same feelings on this? Did you get over it?
Would love to hear how people get used to these. I am wondering now if I should quit but (like everyone) have paid quite a lot of money so.....

I had the same panicky feeling when I started more than a year ago!
I guess you just get use to it...somehow..
When some of the trays were cutting my gum I asked to myself many times: why am I doing this to me?!
But I never liked my teeth...so thinking to a better smile helped my journey so far, plus there is an end for everything and after this one you'll be happy on the results I'm sure

Thanks, that's a nice message of support! Panicky feeling is receding now, just have the dry mouth from hell.... I hope that I can stick this for nearly a year. Have never liked my teeth either and am doing this at the grand old age of 47. I am already beginning to cheat as well! Forums like this are helpful as you need to know about others experiences I think.

I felt the same way on day 6. But I'm now only on day 21, and things are much better. I got my second tray today, and they are tight and uncomfortable. But in 2-3 days, they will be fine. Like my last set.
