New camera...sweeeet...and I like those colors you chose...the answer tothis may be somewhere, but im too lazy to search...but why are some of the ligatures in a figure 8? I have one that's not on all the way...But does the configuration make a difference or is it more just for looks?

Hey! :)

Yeah, the ligatures aren't so bad. I thought that the rose was going to be darker, which I would've prefered, but what are you going to do?

Sometimes they put ligs on in a figure 8 pattern to better attach them to the wire, and produce a little more force.

And w00t for my new camera! :D

I feel a little better today about the teeth than when I made my post. I guess I'm just (hopefully) nearing the end of treatment, and waiting/patience just aren't my thing. I really want to have them off and parade around my new smile. I've found that braces have much more of an emotional impact on me than I ever thought they would. On one hand, I was really proud of my teeth for the first year, because they had been so awful and crooked when I started, but now that they've been essentially straight (but with other problems, namely bite issues) for a year, it's just become much more of a downer. I don't remember what it was like to have crooked teeth anymore, and so the braces aren't as novel as they used to be. It's even harder watching everyone who got them on around the same time get them off....I mean, I'm happy for everyone, but at the same time...why not me?! :|

I know you didn't ask for an emotional update, but since this is my thread, I just thought I'd share! 8)

But you do need to have just a little bit more patience.
Good advice, but easier said than done.

Happy New Year to you too!

kids and braces

#52 Post by skyclad »

I have 2 kids (7 and 4) and I already know they need braces and so i know I have to bust my tail to be able to afford them so that they dont have to figure out how to pay for them.

I am paying for my own unless some kind generous person decides to do so. (fat chance)

How did your 5's become dislodged from the archwire?

Had an adjustment on Valentine's Day.

I wrote about it in the blog, but I warn you, it's kind of angry-sounding.

My new ortho saga is not going well.

Pictures should be up tonight or tomorrow.

Hi Alexa,

Sorry about your situation, that really sucks. I would be pissed off and bitter about the whole thing, too. That's really messed up about the payment thing too, why dont they just put a dunst cap on you? Silly, but i mean really. I'd never want to go back either.

Your new ortho sounds really terrible, you should write a letter and tell her exactly how you feel. Or just freak out and yell at her! lol, jk.

Anyway, good luck and i hope things improve.
