Thanks for checking out my site! =D

Yeah, I have bad teeth coming from all angles as far as geneology, so I'm sure my kids will have wonky smiles from day one....

...but at least I will be able to understand what they're going through and show them my pictures and explain why they will thank me later for braces! :D

Hey all!

I've had two adjustments since I last posted...and I have one set of photos up on the site now. I will make a backdated post on my journal for the other adjustment sometime soon.

I would edit the subject as usual and change the date the pictures were updated.....but I can't anymore...just rest assured they're updated as of 2/20/06, k?

Hi Alexa! :)

Your blog is cool. Sounds like things are moving right along with your progress. :) I know what you mean about liking things to change at your visits because it means you're moving ahead with your treatment. I hate the appointments that are just lig changes, etc...lol. My next appointment I am getting 2 new wires with loops! I hear that hurts quite a bit?

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your treatment...

Went to the ortho today, so there are new pictures up on the site. Using the lousy camera, so they're not too good, I'm sorry to say.

I apologize ahead of time for any negativity wafting off of my site today. I've had a bad couple of weeks, and I think I made my hopes for today's adjustment a little too high.

I wish I went to Hogwarts, cuz if I did, I'd magic my teeth just how I wanted them and be done with everything!

Hi Alexa. :)

I'm so sorry that you had such a rotten time. I know what it's like to have high hopes and then be disappointed. My ortho told me I'd have the bite block off months ago, yet it still sits annoyingly glued behind my top front teeth. My bite is lopsided, too.... for a while I only wore elastics on my right side. Before braces, I couldn't even see my bottom teeth when I bit down. Now I can see the tops of my brackets. :)

Hopefully the next one will be better!

Eh, I guess it wasn't that rotten. I just keep waiting for the day when she says I can stop wearing elastics...I've had them for almost a year now, and I'd be more than happy to give them a rest!

Yeah, hopefully next one will be better. Sure, I'll have to have the unhappiness that is getting a tooth banded, but maybe she'll do other stuff too and I'll get excited again!

Thanks for the words...somedays I need 'em!

Alexa I was just reading your livejournal( I think it's called) and I know what you mean when you say they don't explain anything. My ortho is the same way. They are like we're going to do this or that, but there is no explanation to why? or for how long? I especially hate when she says almost nothing and moves to the next chair. It's like hello..I'm still alive.

Often, my ortho doesn't even tell me what she's doing. She tells the assistant several paces away from my chair as I strain to find out what they're going to do to me! :?

Updated with the pictures from today's adjustment. They're a little less blurry than last time, eventhough I used the lesser quality camera, which leaves hope for that thing yet.

Had a pretty good appt....bracket repositioning and everything. I love when stuff happens! 8)

Anyway. Went to the ortho today to get my back molars banded, so as per usual, update on my livejournal.

Hi Alexa- When I read about your molar issues, boy can I relate. I had to have the ortho put my bands on it was impossible for the tech. I also have a band with quite a bit of metal over the tooth but biting on it hasn't been a problem. The office kept complaining how strangely shaped one of my molars was (gee, can I help that?). Once they were on, everything was fine. No problems since then.

Your teeth look quite nice, are you debanding in the Fall?

Yeah. My molars are really sore today. The way they are positioned on my teeth makes my bite feel weird. Hopefully it will wear off. I guess i must really have some funny shaped teeth for this problem to happen over and over and over again.

Thanks for calling my teeth nice...but unfortunately I've heard no news of debanding. My original estimate was for 24-30 months, so that would put me at February/March 2007 for debanding at the earliest. My teeth did move fairly quickly, and I'm not really sure what could possibly take another 10 months to fix....but I'm afraid to ask my ortho. She gets upset when I ask her about my progress.

I think I may ask her anyway sometime in the next couple of months!
