Is it possible to correct my bimaxillary protusion without extractions?

#1 Post by yume »

Hello, I have been suffering from bimaxillary protusion for a while. A few years ago, my dentist requested to extract 4 teeth to correct my overbite / overcrowding. I don't have much of a functional issue (chewing, closing lips, etc) other than having an overbite. My bimaxillary protusion has caused my chin to be quite recessed and makes me look underdeveloped. I didn't really realise my mouth protudes until a few months ago which has caused a lot of insecurity. I heard that extractions cause facial changes that are unaesthetic and also some functional issues, which is really undesirable for me as I just want to correct my protusion, recessed chin and ?overbite? Is there a surgical solution to this?
