I am in the process of starting my journey towards jaw surgery. My surgeon still don't know which one of my jaws will be repositioned, possibly both of them. I have an underbite, crossbite and an open bite as well. I can't close my teeth together and when I try it leaves big gaps on the sides where I can put my tongue. I was wondering if anybody that had this surgery had a similar bite and how did it affect the amount of gums that showed in your smile? I can't understand how they can shorten my lower face and put the top jaw more out and down without the gums being really visible later? Thank you for any input!
