Need some advice?

#1 Post by jupiter98 »

Hi everyone,

I’m 19 and in need some advice on what could be possibly causing my facial asymmetry. As I’ve examined it more closely, it looks like it’s more of a general facial asymmetry - my right side of my forehead seems to be pushing my left side, as does my upper right jaw and zygomatic bone and also my lower jaw. This has caused me some TMJ pain in my left side, has made me need to open my jaw excessively to unblock my ears and has made my smile and face generally look asymmetrical and slightly crooked.

I think this has potentially been caused by plagiocephaly. When I was a kid, my mum told me my head was a bit crooked when I was born and this asymmetry is noticeable in my baby and childhood pictures. So I’m thinking that’s my entire right side of my face seems to ‘push’ the left.

Can anyone advise me on how it could be possible to go about getting this checked out or treated on the NHS in the UK? Has anyone had experience with this? Please let me know
