Getting 2nd jaw surgery in December - so excited!
My dentist is primarily a sleep apnea and TMJ specialist who has many surgerical cases and older people walking into his office. he focuses more than anyone I've seen on not only my bite, but my overall appearance and how to improve it. He has moved my teeth forward, which I'm very happy about.
So I got my first jaw surgery December of last year to bring down my posterior teeth for my open bite as to make the second surgery less complicated. Since I'm due for a sleep study and more 3D imaging, the surgical plan might change somewhat, but I'm going to have double jaw surgery to rotate my lower jaw, lefort 1, and a genioplasty since my chin is off center. If it turns out that I have sleep apnea (I'm tired all the time and wake up several times at night, usually with a dry mouth.) they might move both jaws forward to open up my airway even further.
